October 1, 2008 -- Crisp autumn days make for the perfect time to clean gutters, inspect roofs and clean windows. When doing so, the public is encouraged to follow a few safety guidelines to help prevent injuries from ladder falls.
September 8, 2008 - Annie Lowery, 79, is the mother of four daughters, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She also is one of the first patients at Presbyterian Hospital to receive treatment for peripheral arterial disease (PAD) using a Diamondback 360 Orbital Atherectomy System.
September 3, 2008 -- On Sept. 1, 41 former Health Management Associates, Inc. (HMA) physicians from medical practices based in Chester, Gaffney, Hamlet and Louisburg joined Novant Medical Group, part of Novant Health.
August 19, 2008 -- Novant Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system, refinanced $198 million of debt today. The refinancing will save approximately $17 million by taking advantage of lower interest rates.

June 3, 2008 -- VHA Inc., a national healthcare alliance, has given Presbyterian Hospital the 2008 VHA Leadership Award for Superior System Performance, which recognizes health systems that provide high-quality care across four major clinical categories: heart attack treatment, surgical infection prevention, management of heart failure and pneumonia care. Presbyterian Hospital was one of only two VHA member hospitals to win this prestigious award.
June 3, 2008 -- Presbyterian Cancer Center recently received the prestigious 2008 Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons, an award held by few in the nation.
May 19, 2008 -- Presbyterian Healthcare is proud to announce that all three of its Charlotte-area, acute care hospitals maintained their designation as primary stroke centers. Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte first received this designation in 2004. Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews were awarded primary stroke center designations in 2006.
After a recent site review, the Joint Commission approved all three facilities to retain the designation for another two years.
May 19, 2008 -- Presbyterian Hospital Matthews and belly elan maternity boutique in South Charlotte have teamed up to offer free educational programs to the community.
